MIPCA (2026)
Gabriel's solo vibraphone work, Fantasía metalófono, was selected from a total of 287 submissions for the 2026 Moliner International Percussion Composition Award (MIPCA). The work, which melds elements of the vibraphone’s history in jazz, sci-fi television themes, and mid-century film scores was composed during the 2025 Gabriela Ortiz Composing Studio.
TUTTI Festival (2026)
Gabriel's piece Cosmópolis will receive its US premiere at Denison University's TUTTI Festival in March 2026. Tinged with influences of Cab Calloway, Miles Davis, and Duke Ellington, this duet for clarinet and percussion evokes the provocative mise-en-scène of New York City after dark while paying homage to the musical styles that define its iconic identity.
The Face of Horror (2026)
Gabriel is currently composing the original score for The Face of Horror, an upcoming gothic horror film from director Anna Biller (The Love Witch, Viva).
